Vivid Sydney 2026 Could Be the Biggest Festival the City Has Ever Seen ✨🌃

Sydney’s iconic winter festival is getting a major upgrade — with a bigger program, more installations, and experiences happening both day and night for the first time.

From 22 May to 13 June, Vivid Sydney will once again transform the harbour city with large-scale light installations, global artists, food events and creative talks across multiple precincts.

Here’s what’s coming in 2026:
🌌 43 installations along the 6.5km free Vivid Light Walk
🚁 Drone shows returning to Cockle Bay with 22 shows across 11 nights
✨ A brand-new laser show lighting up Darling Harbour nightly
🎶 23 nights of free live music at Tumbalong Nights

For the first time, the festival will also expand into daytime experiences, including art installations, talks, performances and cultural events across the city.

More than 80% of the program will be free, with major cultural institutions across Sydney hosting events as the city comes alive through Light, Music, Minds and Food.

With millions of visitors expected again, Vivid Sydney continues to cement its place as one of the world’s leading immersive cultural festivals.
