And just in case you don’t feel like it’s “allowed” 👀 It’s fully acceptable to feel these ways 🤩 both good and negative emotions 😊 It’s not something a lot of people experience so it’s easy to feel like what everyone else experiences is what you have to too 😳

But that’s not the case 🤓 Some people sail through their PhD and everything works and they fully understand their research topic and life is great 🤩 Others struggle through the whole thing 😱 and for others it can get so bad they quit 🙅‍♀️ (I’ve heard all three options from you guys so don’t try and tell me one of them doesn’t happen 😜)

I think the very last one will hit home for most of you 🥲 Because how are you supposed to know what you want to do when your whole life is consumed by 1 thing?! 🥸 Just finishing that PhD 😵‍💫 When are you supposed to find time to look for what else might be out there when you’re working so hard 🧬 And I know most people will say, orient yourself early on!! 👔 which is really good advice! 😊 But it’s also okay to accept that maybe at this very moment you don’t know what you want to do 😇 You’ll figure it out for sure 😃 Just not right now 😊
