I got my PhD in immunology, cardiology, and lipidology 👩‍🔬 it was very translational 😊 meaning I had to take topics from 3 areas that can be PhDs on their own and mix them together to make something new 🤩 I worked on T cells, atherosclerosis, and triglycerides/fatty acids 🧫 which wasn’t much studied until I started doing it 😎

Having a topic like this is lots of fun because it’s so new ✨ but at the same time it’s hard because nobody knows anything about it 😰 and you have to spend a lot of time convincing people of why it is something interesting and important to study 👩‍🔬
