This mornings Sunrise. I made sure to see it. To feel it. 

Living without you my sweet Georgie is the hardest thing in the world. Some days, it feels impossible. The weight of your absence is unbearable, pressing against my chest with every breath. But your sister has become my sunrise…helping me wake each day, seeing the world differently, and finding…no searching, for the beauty that still exists. The in-betweens, the small, quiet moments. Sometimes, just one small joyful thing is all I need to keep going.

I seek adventures and bring you along with me. I may not be the same person now, but I promise I treat time like gold. Every second matters. Every day is a chance to honor you. I promise I’m doing my very best in your name.

There is no guidebook for this kind of grief—only the quiet, aching realization that I must navigate it without you here with me. I still imagine you right next to me though. Holding my hand wherever we go. Sitting in the empty chair at our table of four. Buying your favorite snacks…

I hope that in walking this path, I can help others find their way too. I know it’s not easy. But there is joy in your name, sweet Georgie. Joy in carrying you with me, always.
