Woke up last Saturday at 6AM to a message congratulating me… half asleep, I remembered the interview I did earlier that week. I thought, “oh that’s nice.”

Then I went to grab the Vancouver Sun Newspaper — and saw my face on the front cover.

I can’t even explain that feeling. Shock. Gratitude. A little disbelief. Moments like this still don’t feel real… and maybe that’s what keeps them so special.

But more than the feature itself, this was about something bigger. A conversation that matters. About the narrative around “2 Surrey”, the idea of division, and why it’s so important we move as one — not as “North vs South,” but as a united community.

Because the truth is: there is so much growth here. So much talent. So much untapped potential. We’re part of one of the fastest-growing regions in Canada, and that only means something if we build it together.

Division limits us. Unity amplifies us.
