I had the absolute joy of taking my parents to the Satinder Sartaaj show at Rogers Arena — and to put it simply, it was incredible.

My parents have always been huge fans of his art, especially my dad, who’s been hoping to see him live for years. And you know how it is with immigrant parents - they give endlessly, but rarely take the time to receive, to pause, or to truly treat themselves.

So this year, when I saw Satinder Sartaaj announce his tour, I didn’t think twice. I grabbed the tickets right away, knowing that moments like these are once-in-a-lifetime. As Sartaaj beautifully puts it:

“ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਆਉਣਾ ਏ ਜੀਉਣ ਨੂਂ…”

“We only get this one life, one chance to live fully, to love deeply, to create memories that stay with us forever.”

Watching my parents smile, sway, and sing along, I knew this memory would be one of those forever ones. I saw them at ease, in joy, and so present… and my heart couldn’t have felt more full.

My parents are truly my best friends. Wherever I go, they go. Wherever they go, I go. 🤍

Sartaaj isn’t just an artist, he’s a soul who sings with depth, a poet who paints emotion with words, and a beam of light whose energy can be felt across every corner of a room. The entire arena was glowing with warmth, love, and presence, and it was all because of the aura he brings with him.

Thank you Satinder Sartaaj for such a mesmerizing and soul-touching performance. Each lyric you sang wasn’t just heard - it was felt.
