The healthcare crisis in British Columbia is no longer just a concern, it’s a call to action. With emergency rooms overwhelmed, surgeries delayed for months, and healthcare workers facing burnout at unprecedented levels, we are witnessing a system stretched to its breaking point. More than 900,000 people are currently without a family doctor, and wait times for basic services continue to climb. This is not just a statistic; these are our parents, our children, our friends and neighbours. It’s unacceptable. 

We cannot continue to normalize these failures; we cannot continue to wait while lives are on the line. Healthcare is a fundamental human right, and the responsibility to protect it lies with our elected officials, not just healthcare leaders. 

The time for change is now, and we must demand it. We have waited far too long for action, for the reforms that are necessary to rebuild a system that serves the needs of all British Columbians, not just the fortunate few. We cannot stand by while our healthcare system crumbles. This is a moment that calls for unity, for collective action. Our leaders must step up, take responsibility, and implement the changes we so desperately need. 

Together, we have the power to demand the healthcare system that we deserve, one that is equitable, accessible, and sustainable for every single person in British Columbia.
