not my typical IG feed content but i got this question about how i manage my manic/hypomanic/depressive episodes dealing with my bipolar disorder on tiktok. felt like it was worth sharing on here 💕

tells a little bit about my mental health journey but most importantly may helpful someone else trying to navigate a very complicated disorder

when i feel an episode coming on, one of the hardest things to practice is acceptance. having bipolar disorder means we only visit stability/normalcy but never actually live there. so when you have to leave its almost as painful as the episode itself. very disheartening. but catastrophizing doesn’t help

im pretty in tune with my body so i can notice the changes/shift. reaching out to my psychiatrist and therapist is important because they can be aware and be apart of my team for the game plan

depending on the episode, i know what boundaries i have to set for myself. if you’ve been dealing with bipolar disorder, you know that routine is EVERYTHING. sticking to my routine while watching my habits is crucial. also practice coping skills necessary for this episode depending

and of course giving myself GRACE. everyday won’t be perfect, but there’s always tomorrow (or the next day) :p
