Here’s what no one tells you about pivoting to tech:

💾 Save and follow before you lose me!

Most career changers trying to pivot to tech aren’t confused because they don’t have skills.

They’re confused because they don’t understand what the tech industry actually needs.

So you scroll the job boards until something “looks good”

You try to make sense of vague job titles.

You see skills listed that feel familiar but also seems like they are speaking another language.

So you try to fit their whole career story ino your resume hoping that something will stand out and stick.

Which results in up a 17 bullet per work history resume/historical novel (because you are terrified to leave anything out)…

That exactly zero people want to read.

But here’s what I will tell you:

Strategy beats scrolling

Clarity beats chaos.

And understanding how this industry works?

That’s the foundation of job searching in a new space.

It is what separates the career changers who get seen from the ones who burn out.

So what is one to do??

1. Start by learning how the industry works.

2. Learn about the types, size, stages, and sectors.

3. Learn about the non-technical roles and what skills they value.

So you can narrow your focus and weed out the crap you don’t need.
And so you can build a strategy around only opportunities where you have an edge.

That’s where I start with my clients.

That’s where I suggest you start on your own… if you want to figure this thing out.

If you’d like some help with that comment START and I’ll send you a starter kit to check out.

🖤 Follow @skilledambition for the advice, clarity, and insider info you actually need to to leave underpaid, no-future roles behind and build a “right for you” future forward non technical career in tech.
