4 Lakes in and around Banff you HAVE to see before you die ⤵️🫣

Lake Louise 🏔️
definitely hit the Lake Agnes Teahouse Hike (7 km / 4.3 miles round trip) and if you’re feeling adventurous, push on to the Little Beehive (5.8 km / 3.6 miles from Lake Louise) or Big Beehive (9.2 km / 5.7 miles from Lake Louise) for even more panoramic views! parking here is super tough, so plan to use the shuttle from Lake Louise Park & Ride; you’ll need reservations!

Moraine Lake 🩵
Remember, you can’t drive your own car here anymore as of 2024; you’ll need to grab the Parks Canada shuttle or a tour. A quick walk up the Rockpile Trail (300m / 0.2 miles) gives you the famous view, and catching a shuttle for sunrise here is totally worth the early wake-up call.

Peyto Lake 🦊
this lake’s unique fox-head shape and unbelievably vibrant blue color from the viewpoint are something else. It’s a pretty easy 10-15 minute walk from the parking lot, which can get busy, but it’s totally worth it. Try to go mid-morning on a sunny day to see that amazing color really pop!

Emerald Lake 🛶
a short hop into nearby Yoho National Park, Emerald Lake. It’s a bit of a hidden gem compared to the others, which made it feel way more serene and peaceful. don’t miss the super easy and scenic 5.2 km (3.2 miles) loop trail around the lake!
