Actions always speak louder than words. Growing up I had strangers, family members, even dentists comment on my facial appearance. As much as I tried to grow a thick skin, it made me insecure. Did I not know I had a bite problem? Believe me I already did. I was told by many orthodontists I could only wait until I had finished growing and have braces and double jaw surgery to correct my severely skewed jaw and teeth. 
So I worked hard, got into dental school, had the treatment that changed my life, my teeth function and my appearance. And got inspired to become an orthodontist. Now when I see my patients, I can really say I know how they feel because I have actually been through it all.
