Thank you for all the memories at my favorite place fanmdjanm 💕🥰 cheers to the next chapter! 

I originally had this post sitting in my drafts to share all my mirror selfies from the store. The caption was “I be going back in the store just to take a selfie ☺️ it’s really my favorite place!” So initially when I saw the news that the store was closing, I wanted to be sad. 

But I thought about all the times I drove to Austin just to go to the store and how it ALWAYS cheered me up no matter what I was going through. I thought about how I always go in to get something specific but always walk out with something completely different because I would fall in love with another item.

The store became a safe space for me to explore my roots as a Haitian woman and my identity as a Black woman through their intimate and lively events. 

The details in the store, specifically the written reminders on the walls, floor, and mirror, to keep my head up made it a magical place. The store felt like home in all the ways that mattered to me. 

As fanmdjanm close their doors I smile at all the beautiful memories I’ve created there but most importantly, the sisterhood I found 💕 Mesi, fanmi
