“I’m a Black girl.. OF COURSE I’ll gravitate to iconic Black woman LEGENDS like the glorious chakakhan !!”

This was such a MONUMENTAL experience! To my utter joy Chaka sparked up a conversation with ME! And it was such such a beautiful discussion about womanhood, strength, and resilience (things I’ve been mulling over for a while). And critically, how it’s powerful for us to take breaks from the harshness of the world and nonstop obligations, and give ourselves ✨SPACE and GRACE ✨— especially for those of us who carry so much and have so others looking to us to help their journeys. We deserve rest. We deserve peace. We deserve JOY and KINDNESS. And priortizing those things, is a superpower 💪🏾

Thank you a million times chakakhan - your words meant everything.

Happy Black History Month!
