Today, I had the incredible honour of attending the Encaenia at the University of Oxford to witness Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala receive her honorary degree 🌟 Dr. Okonjo-Iweala is a trailblazing Nigerian economist and the current Director General of the World Trade Organization – the first woman and the first African to hold this prestigious position. Her career is a testament to resilience and excellence, having served as Nigeria’s Finance Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister, and leading global initiatives in economic development and health.

From her groundbreaking work with the World Bank to her pivotal role in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Okonjo-Iweala’s contributions to global policy and economic strategies are unparalleled. She’s a true inspiration, showing the world the power of dedication, intellect, and cultural pride.

Being there today was so inspirational! Seeing Dr. Okonjo-Iweala honored in such a grand manner filled me with immense pride. Her achievements highlight the importance of representation and the impact of staying true to one’s roots 🌍💼✨ one of the most heartwarming parts of today was Dr saying “Jisike” to me and me replying “daalu” 😊
