'Artificial Intelligence vs Natural Stupidity'

Most anti-AI arguments aren’t really arguments...they’re just reflexes. But if you look closely, they’re also sorta 'silly'.

The silliness of thinking AI is “one tool.” There are literally hundreds of new tools...thousands.

The silliness of pretending to know how they work if you've never even tried them.

The silliness of defending copyright monopolies, when fair use and open sharing have always fueled more creativity.

The silliness of shouting “theft!” when every artist has learned by looking, remixing, and borrowing. No one owns styles. Or looks. Or process. There's no theft.

The silliness of refusing to change, when change is what artists do best.

The silliness of mocking new mediums, as if photography or digital art didn’t once face the same ridicule before ending up in museums.

The silliness of thinking pros aren't exploring these tools. I give lessons to multiple Marvel & DC comic artists, even lessons to Pixar...they know. They all know.

The silliness of ignoring platforms that fight for open access, fair use, and against unfair IP laws written by legacy media to protect themselves, NOT artists.

The silliness of criticizing artists who work differently. Traditional approaches are wonderful. But so are new ones. One isn’t holier than the other.

The silliness of thinking a talented traditional artist couldn’t adopt and maybe even love these tools. Some of us have -and happily.

The silliness of artists without much natural tactile talent condemning the very tools that could help them find their voice.

The silliness of people born after 1990 lecturing Gen-Xers on technology. You had iPhones in school...we watched computers go from typewriters to the internet. Different timelines, different wisdom.

And the silliest of all: leaving cranky little comments on complete strangers’ posts.

AI isn’t replacing art...it’s just another brush. Another way to imagine, to play, to dream. The future of art isn’t about old vs. new. It’s about what happens when they dance together.
