Here’s a fun LinkedIn-style post that will land well with tech folks

Choosing a Google Cloud machine type feels like ordering food at a restaurant.

You open the menu and suddenly see things like:
e2-medium
n2-standard-8
c2-highcpu-16
t2d-standard-4

At this point, you’re not picking a VM anymore.
You’re decoding a WiFi password.

Google Cloud:
“Choose the right machine type for your workload.”

Me:
“Boss… which one runs my Python script without bankrupting the company?”
After 20 minutes of reading documentation:
• E2 → cheap and general use
• N2 → balanced performance
• C2 → CPU monsters for heavy compute
• M2 → memory beasts for large datasets

Translation:
E2 → Budget mode
N2 → Normal mode
C2 → Gym bro CPU
M2 → Data engineer’s fridge-sized RAM

Cloud learning curve is real
But once you understand machine families, choosing the right VM becomes much easier.

What confused you the most when you first opened Google Cloud Compute Engine?
