The top 2026 Data Science trends:

1. Less Building & more supervising: data scientists will shift from building models to supervising outputs, setting guardrails, and checking for bias and hallucinations.
2. Data quality & QA bottleneck: bad data leads to bad insights, so more effort will go into validating and QAing AI-generated models and outputs.
3. SQL will be KING: SQL will be the main tool for evaluation, QAing, finding anomalies, and setting up guardrails by managing the data that flows into models.

Which of these do you think will matter most for data scientists in 2026?
