Merry Christmas 🎄 and here’s a special edition of Sounds of LA—the series where I uncover the places and music that gave this city its soundtrack.

Los Angeles doesn’t usually get credit for Christmas. No snow, no sleigh bells, no cozy cabins—just sunshine and palm trees.
And yet, some of the most beloved holiday music of all time was born right here, quietly recorded behind unassuming doors in West Hollywood.

This episode traces the unlikely holiday history of one legendary building that helped shape the sound of Christmas itself—spanning early Hollywood, animation studios, and a recording space that welcomed everyone from crooners to rock ’n’ roll icons.

It’s a reminder that Christmas isn’t always about where you think it comes from—but where the music was made.

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays, #creeps!
