Smoked Pulled Pork was one of the first things I learned to make when I started my Backyard BBQ journey. It’s the easiest and most forgiving. VERY HARD TO MESS UP. If you’re new to BBQ, I highly recommend putting this on your list to make!

I started with a 9-pound bone-in pork butt. I used a light coat of mustard as a binder, then seasoned it generously with a mix of SPG and BBQ rub.

I smoked the pork at 250 degrees IN KY @traegergrills until it reached an internal temperature of 175. At that point, I placed it in a pan with apple juice, butter, and brown sugar, then covered it and continued cooking until it reached 205. The entire process took about 10 hours. You can smoke at any temp between 225 and 300 depending on how much time you have. Just make sure internal temp reaches 205-210 degrees.

My favorite part of this low and slow cook is when the bone slides out clean. That is when you know the pork is incredibly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor.

No Limit Tip: After pulling/shredding pork, taste it and season with salt to taste!

Ingredients:
1 9-pound Pork Butt, bone-in
Heath Riles Competition BBQ Rub
Kinder’s The Blend SPG Seasoning
Yellow mustard
6 ounces apple juice
¼ cup butter
¼ cup brown sugar
