May 26, 2024.✨

Today it’s been 17 years since Pilar died. Today we visited him with his nieces and nephews and our hearts were full of joy seeing his spirit come alive in these beautiful moments together. 

Kaïri dressed specifically to honour his uncle who he’s never met, yet carries his name with such reverence, and with an increasing awareness of his presence in his life. 

I treasure the way in which we celebrate his legacy every year, every day, and each in our own ways. We miss him desperately, we each feel the pain of losing him all these years later, AND we celebrate the many ways in which his legacy has bonded us as a family and inspired us to be our best in ways that could only be considered a gift to each of us and to us a family.

Life is perpetually dualistic. Pain, joy, trauma and redemption. Because of this loss we have found so much love. Thank you Pils. We love you to infinity. 🕊️✨
