Chicago really said, ‘Go big or go green!’ Witnessing my first real St. Patrick’s Day here was absolutely wild—green river, crazy energy, and a city that knows how to party!

For those wondering why Chicago goes all out: St. Patrick’s Day celebrates Irish heritage and the patron saint of Ireland, but here, it’s a whole spectacle! The city has been dyeing the river green since 1962, and with a huge Irish-American community, it’s one of the biggest celebrations in the world.
