This chaotic dump is a soft hug to my fellow freelancers in the media industry, ghosting the credits but glowing in spirit💻🫶🏽✨

Quitting Twitter was the best decision of my life. 

I just lurk now. Quietly. Peacefully. 

But today, let’s get a little serious.

Let’s talk about ghosts.
Not the scary kind—but the kind you scroll past every single day without knowing: ghost social media managers, journalists, writers, and editors.

We’re the invisible workforce of the digital world. 

We write captions for influencers, make art, run political meme pages, ghostwrite newsletters, manage activist pages, pen spicy thought-pieces for people too scared to say it themselves—and we do it all behind the curtain. No bylines. No credit. Just clean Google Docs and NDA silence.

As a journalist in India, the work I am proudest of—legacy media, investigative fun stories, “respectable” bylines was paid in dignity but… also dust🥲

Meanwhile, the random freelance gigs? The ethically questionable campaigns? The stuff I never shared on my portfolio?
Paid in quite some moneys that paid actual bills.

Every journalist or creative in India—South Asia, really knows the unspoken rule: Don’t speak too loud. Don’t piss off the wrong people. Because well, who wants to go to jail? 👁️🐮
