▪️Desde 2015 que el segundo lunes de febrero se conmemora como el Día Internacional de la Epilepsia, una fecha para hacer conciencia sobre una de las enfermedades neurológicas más frecuentes. 

▪️¿Qué es la epilepsia? ➡️ Es una enfermedad neurológica caracterizada por la predisposición a presentar crisis epilépticas, ¿y qué son las crisis epilépticas? son los síntomas y signos producidos por una activación neuronal excesiva. Existen múltiples tipos de crisis epilépticas, aunque las más conocidas son probablemente las crisis tónico-clonicas generalizadas.

▪️La epilepsia puede ocurrir a cualquier edad y por múltiples razones, por lo que todos podemos presentarla. La epilepsia también está incluida en el GES (*Epilepsia no refractarios en mayores de 1 año y menores de 15 años y Epilepsia no refractaria en personas de 15 años o más).
