I’m sure one day a new mom will be asking me for advice around her career & dreams, and I’ll look back and think about how scary it was leaving my most stable job to be at home these last five years. I’ve been getting asked a lot about whether our youngest will be going to day care soon and if I’ll go back to full time work. A part of me often struggles with that question. Full time stable income would be amazing, we would hit our goals faster and life would feel more secure… but if the last few years have taught me anything, it’s been that God will always honor my time at home. I don’t want to romanticize this season for you, because depending on your circumstance it will be hard. We’ve been broke, loss jobs, cut down on living how we use to live just for our kids. It’s heavy and sometimes it’s gonna feel like you made a mistake letting go of what should have been “ your biggest break”.

Yet, you’ll find that pauses are part of growth. They require you to slow down, which often leads to moments of reflection. Postpartum is one of the most important parts of your journey because you have no other choice but to slow a down and I invite you to embrace.

So I juggle between what is now of this season and where I hoped I would be, I’m standing in some of the best years of my life. I’m being stretched beyond my limits and some days I’m at the end of myself. But God has been kind, he has given me the desires of my heart and redeemed so much of my childhood through my kids. My “biggest break” is happening right now along my kids, and the question that I’m constantly asking myself is “ if this is all I get to do in life, will it be enough?”

It will be enough, enough for me. #realmotherhood
