🇬🇧 If you pass by Bassano or Monte Grappa you cannot fail to stop in Marostica .. a town with a historic center and rather particular walls .. It has the shape of a semi-open book, where the center is level, then the castle walls rise towards the hill.  Here Dylan made his first via ferrata, to visit the castle walls.  Rather steep walls / stairs but showing the city from above.  Marostica is known all over the world for the chess game that takes place with living characters in the town square, every two years (even years) on the second weekend of September: it is a tradition started in 1923 and which is to be inspired by an event of 1454, although there is no historical evidence.  For this historic event, the town of Vicenza is also nicknamed "the city of chess".

🇮🇹 Se passi da Bassano o dal monte Grappa non puoi non fermarti a Marostica.. un paese dal centro storico e mura piuttosto particolari.. Ha la forma di un libro semi aperto, dove il centro è in piano, poi le mura del castello salgono verso la collina. Qui Dylan ha fatto la sua prima ferrata, per visitare le mura del castello. Mura/scale piuttosto ripide ma che mostrano la città dall'alto. Marostica è nota in tutto il mondo per la partita a scacchi che si svolge con personaggi viventi nella piazza cittadina, ogni due anni (anni pari) nel secondo fine settimana di settembre: è una tradizione avviata nel 1923 e che si vuole ispirata ad un evento del 1454, sebbene non vi siano prove storiche. Per questa storica manifestazione la cittadina vicentina viene anche soprannominata "la città degli scacchi".
