I was called fat and it made me feel really insecure of my body

Especially in Asia society, I’m not seen to be slim and it can really affect my confidence at times. So I turned to the gym and even though I had a physical trainer who has guided me through different weight exercises, there was still so much to explore and sometimes it can feel very overwhelming, like which exercises should I do to tone my arms. I actually ended up turning to online videos and I would follow how people were doing it. While trying it out, I will video myself and see and feel if I am engaging the right muscles. It takes a few tries but it really helps when you do trial and error. 

The past few months has also been a bit of a rough journey. I have not been able to wake up early to exercise so I ended up gymming at night. Many times I was sooooo tired, I kept yawning but I told myself that I needed the workout and really pushed myself (mind > body) to show up. And when I look back, I realise I really should give myself a pat on the back because it is an effort, and it is a progress. 

My weight has been honestly up and down. It’s very very hard to lose weight, I think I’ve reached a plateau but I do see my body being more toned so at least that’s a win! 

If anybody who is feeling stuck in your weight loss journey, just know that you need to show up. Show up for yourself and not for others. Celebrate the small wins and give yourself credit for making the effort. ❤️
