As a former Wall Street Managing Director, I get asked constantly by young women who are making $150K or less on how to actually save, invest, and build real wealth. So if I were making $150K a year, this is exactly how I’d structure my money as a young, single woman to set myself up for long-term millions!

Here’s the not-so-sexy truth: Consistency. Time. Staying invested. That’s the whole game.

My $150K framework:
• 20% Investing – S&P 500, Nasdaq, AI index funds (VOO, QQQ, AIQ - you look look up a bunch of low fee index funds online. Don’t need to get that granular. I generally like thematic investing)
• 50% Living – rent, food, bills, everyday stuff
• 10% Lifestyle – travel, fun, shopping, enjoying life
• 10% Savings – emergency fund
• 10% Growth & Flexibility – courses, improving on other skills, side hustles, other business opportunities

If you consistently invest that 20% into diversified index funds, over 20 years it can realistically grow to $1.3–$2M+ without taking a lot of risk. If you’re younger, you can absolutely lean heavier into tech and AI. If you want to take some more risk and you love doing research etc, take a small % of the savings and allocate to certain stocks but don’t do it aggressively unless you have time to research and know what you are doing.

And this is the part I repeat: Do. Not. Pull. Out. Even if the market is down 30% - do not panic and sell everything. Anyone who has done that generally lost money in the past.
Real wealth in public market investing for most people isn’t built from timing the market — it’s built from staying in it for a LONG time!

Save this. Send it to your best friend, your family. This is the long game and I think too many people want a quick gain but often that’s just gambling and eventually you will lose. #financetip #personalfinance #womenwhoinvest
