I recently moderated a session with an incredible collection of women at africatechfest 
 
We spoke about “Inclusive Access to Digital Skills and Literacy to All”
 
Each one is taking innovative and creative approaches to bolster digital skills on the African continent here’s how: 
 
1. Dr Cherise Dunn from SOUTH AFRICA MAKES takes 3D printing to the next level, for the medical, dental, and research industries in Africa.

2. Emma Mphahlele from African Youth Ignited 4IR (PBO) is doing fascinating work introducing Africa’s youth to STEM through educational robotics and coding. I loved their explorations into neurodiversity and the benefits of robotics & coding.

3.Motunrayo Opayinka from the_womenovate  provides Nigerian women the resources to build amazing careers and businesses in science, technology, engineering, agriculture, and mathematics industries.

4. Jessica Hawkey from redacademy.sa set up in-house tech skills hubs in South African businesses to train talented learners directly out of school in coding & IT, in a live working environment. These learners then go directly to employment from their training experience. So cool.
 

5. Shirley Eadie from the Department of Basic Education spearheaded the design of the South African Competency Framework in Education. 

It is beyond inspiring to the see the breadth and quality of progress on the continent when it comes to digital skills.
