The popcorn ceiling used to bother me when we initially moved in

Then I stopped caring, and didn’t mind it

But now that it’s gone…. 

I’m like why didn’t we do this sooner?!

I have zero regrets

It’s hard work (shout out to hubs @havenbuilds_ ) 

Here’s a quick run down of what to expect if you ever wanted to DIY this:

1️⃣ Test your home for asbestos if your house is older

2️⃣ You need an agent to wet the ceiling, then scrap off the popcorn

3️⃣ Sanding (you can do this the hard-hard way with your hands) or the hard way using a sanding tool from @homedepotcanada 

4️⃣ Skim coat for a smooth finish 

5️⃣ Paint 

6️⃣ Everything, and I mean everything in your house will be messy, so you’re going to have to do a lot of cleaning
