This is your sign to add Pueblo loop trail to your Southwest bucket list!

Bandelier National Monument is such a cool place to explore because you’re literally walking through history. You can climb ladders and check out some of the ancient cliff dwellings where ancestral Pueblo people used to live. The hike is 1.5 miles round trip with about 250ft of elevation gain making it fairly easy for most to complete. If you have time add on the Alcove house to the loop but it does close seasonally so be mindful of this. 

 It’s important to note that not all the cliff dwellings are open for exploring and that’s really important to respect signage here. These sites are incredibly fragile and still culturally significant today so not touching anything you aren’t supposed to helps preserve these places for future generations. 

Entry is $25 per vehicle, or you can get in free with an active America the Beautiful (national parks) pass, which makes it an easy stop if you already have one!  This area is only a 45 minute drive from Santa Fe making this a great day trip while in Santa Fe, Nee Mexico.
