Luray Caverns in Virginia is one of the most impressive cave systems on the East Coast, offering a 1.5 mile, one way loop that’s wheelchair friendly and takes about 1–2 hours to explore. You can do a self guided tour for $36 or a guided tour for about $65, with the last entry at 4 PM. Don’t miss the famous Fried Eggs formation, the underground wishing well that’s collected over $1 million for charity, and the Great Stalacpipe Organ, which plays music using the natural reverberations of the formations. It’s one of those rare attractions where every turn actually gets better and you should definitely make it to the end (since that’s how you get out!)
