Send this to someone you’d take a fall train ride through the Appalachian Mountains with 🍂🧡🚂

The Cass Scenic Railroad is a Bucketlist trip to do this fall. The colors are peaking right now so book your trip asap!!! They just opened up a few Bald Knob routes for the end of the month so book asap if you are still wanting to go. There’s two main routes to choose from for the mountain fall views. The first is Bald Knob Scenic route which takes you to the peak of West Virginia’s third highest peak. The trip takes 4.5 hours and costs $83pp and includes a sack lunch.

The shorter route is to Whittaker Station and takes you about halfway up Bald Knob before turning around. This route costs $73pp and was the route I took (since the bald knob was sold out) and it was absolutely beautiful! There are a few other routes like the Greenbrier which I can’t really speak to since I didn’t experience it but per the website this one winds along the river and I assume it’s also beautiful.

Cass itself is a lovely town with biking and hiking trails all over the place and after your ride you can spend some time exploring. The restaurant adjacent to the railroad station had some of the most affordable food prices I’ve seen ($7 for a sandwich is like 2010’s prices!!!)
