Steal my 10 Day Upstate New York Fall Roadtrip Itinerary 👇🏼🍂🪵🧡

📍Upstate New York Autumn Roadtrip
Start: Burlington, Vermont
End: Rochester, New York (Buffalo or Ithaca also options)
🚘 750 miles total (~16 hrs drive)
📅 10 Days (can shorten by skipping rest days)

Day 1
Fly into Burlington, pick up your rental car, and check out the cute downtown before checking into your hotel.

Day 2
Drive to Ausable Chasm for the riverwalk and raft float through this stunning gorge. End the day in Lake Placid.

Day 3
Hike Indian Head, a stunning but tough 11-mile trail that requires a permit. Spend the rest of the night recovering in Lake Placid.

Day 4
Rest and explore Lake Placid, a cozy ski town with cute shops and restaurants.

Day 5
Drive 3.5 hrs to the Thousand Islands to explore Boldt Castle, then continue to Syracuse for the night.

Day 6
Visit Secret Caverns and Howe Caverns for an underground waterfall and boat ride then a tay in Ithaca.

Day 7
Rest day in Ithaca to enjoy wineries and the charming downtown. Thompson and Bleeker is a must for dinner.

Day 8
Visit Buttermilk Falls and Pinnacle Rock, then drive to Watkins Glen.

Day 9
See Hector Falls and hike Watkins Glen State Park. If you have time, relax by Seneca Lake.

Day 10
Drive to Buffalo, Rochester, or Ithaca to fly home. Add Letchworth State Park or Niagara Falls if you have time!
