What’s on the other side of survival? 

I think I can finally tell you. For context: I was born with my body attacking itself, until I almost didn’t make it. First Juvenile Arthritis, then…Crohns disease- I learned what it was like to suffer the worst pains and hungers so early on. Do you know how many nights I spent in the childrens hospital being poked and prodded until 4am to get a single IV? And I hardly ever cried. 

💐Quitting was never an option for little me. I was so positive, because to this day that’s how I am at my best- a presence that calms everyone around them. ☀️Not through toxic positivity, but via this warm and optimistic light natural to my being…

But now the further away I grow from little me and the harder life gets- I actually find solace in my younger self, the one who “fought” through it all just because she knew she could. 

The little girl who dreamed so big and fought just as hard for her dreams as she did her own survival. She was persistent, not spiteful. Hence why “fought” is in quotations. She got me here with grace, so I will make something beautiful of life, for her. 🩷 

My advice: Survive invisible illness for yourself, your biggest dreams, and for the sake of pure optimism! Your dreams might not turn out as expected, but I promise what is waiting for you is just as beautiful… or better.  #InvisibleDisability #NotAllDisabilitiesAreVisible #ChronicIllness #Inspiration
