woke up at 5pm and had some thoughts about why I’m still in college when I don’t want a corporate career 😴

as an autistic person, I crave predictability - but the traditional path of getting a degree for stable employment doesn’t actually guarantee that for someone whose needs require accommodation

my brain works best around 5pm when there’s no external pressure. the more demands that come in, the more I withdraw. but that’s when I find my most creative self

when I’m frustrated with typical structures like school and work culture

so instead of forcing myself to write long papers for deadlines, I’m leaning into what actually works: writing one sentence when something interests me. gravitating toward long-form content on my own terms instead of short-form pressure

I’m defiant of typical norms and I don’t want to follow them anymore. sleeping through the day when everybody else is being productive, working at 5pm when everybody’s off work: that’s where I thrive

getting my degree is about creating predictability in employment status, not about conforming to a system that was never built for people like me ;)
