Remember, as you are healing, it takes the splitting off of previous versions of yourself to showcase the majestic spectrum of vibrancy at the end of the storm.

Storms can completely exhaust us from every angle - slitting off parts of who we once were in order to operate on a new wavelength. 

Whole refraction is the splitting of the light. Each unique wavelength of color that the eye sees is an integral part to the whole of the rainbow. So often we see in black and white, afraid to show up with the vibrancy of life. Diverging from our original essence, we numb certain aspects of who we are when we are not safe to showcase the spectrum of parts that encompass us.

As I’ve sat in therapeutic containers I’ve processed a lot about a late diagnosis of autism, as an artist now color is made, both in light and in pigment. 

When mixing ink on a press, or with a brush prepping for canvas, the pigment of all colors make black. When mixing the colors of light however it creates the perception of white light. The absence of light equals darkness where color doesn’t exist, yet in color pigment it’s the addition of color. Wild how context can change the perception of color whether through light or through pigment. 

It’s through the depths of color and the richness of mixing pigment that we get our deepest blacks to paint with. Yet the vibrancy of color light wavelengths creates a blinding white light. We see light, we mix pigment. White pigment is the absence of additive color. We exist with and without color based on the matter it exists in. 

Through the addition of pigment and the mixture of darkness, a richness unfolds both in the depth of the colors of our lives, and in the ability to become. As we heal we become the light of consciousness, refracting the beauty of our souls in a fully embodied vision, we bridge the past, present and future - our storms inspiring the majestic beauty of refracted rainbows.
