Grieving the life you could have had…
and
Allowing yourself to express and feel what you’ve been suppressing throughout your life in order to feel connection.

As humans we are inherently wired for connection. As babies we come out of the womb crying so as to bid connection from our caregivers to feed and comfort us. Yet as we grow and are indoctrinated in the systems we are raised in, we inevitably strip away parts of who we are in order to form attachments.

Our earliest attachments are rooted in survival. If our environments aren’t safe for authenticity as we grow, we will eventually bury parts of who we are in order to be connected to our world.

When we start to seek freedom from those attachments because they no longer feel authentic, we start to unearth and excavate parts of who we once were that we either gave up-or never brought to fruition. This can be terrifying, as seeking authenticity in unsafe places, it may then led to rejection. And yet, discovery is often done alone and isolated, only relevant to those that seek it out.

This is where GRIEF comes in. It is the grief in the loss of what might have been, what was, and what may never be when we consciously realize how external programming impacted our internal self. We make progress when we discover the possibility and know how what was normalized was actually not normal at all.

Which then leads to the expression of many feelings previously suppressed. To grieve is to allow yourself space to witness each feeling associated with the grieving process. Anger, regret, disgust, fear, sorrow, pain, and to express those feelings, and breathe life into them so as to process through them.

When we allow ourselves to feel we have progressed beyond the suppressive voices of our childhood that shushed us in our pain. We expand beyond being punished or silenced for being too much and we allow flow to take space as we learn how to feel ourselves fully as adults. Trusting our own intuition over seeking external validation. Progress lies within, in order to continue to expand outward.
