## Caption

When we talk about emotions there’s a lot of comparison to sun energy. Joy is likened to sunshine, happiness is likened to brightness, even in dualism there is labeling of “good emotions” as being full of light.

But the reality of it is, in the darkness, the moon is grounding. Its gravitational pull keeps us grounded on earth. Why are we so afraid of the dark? Why do we fear the shadows? 

In the dark we have heightened senses, that we may not be aware of in the light. We often hear things more clearly in a night outdoors or smell the crisp air. Allowing ourselves the capacity to sit in the shadows often supports us in sensing things we would otherwise miss in the light. It can support us in tuning into very specific needs if we carve out that space to do so.

Healing isn’t linear, and giving ourselves permission to explore the dark side of the moon, is also going to ground us in our foundation that we get to build for ourselves after completely demolishing the one that was projected onto us.
