Happy Sunday from the recovery couch! It’s Kendra here ready to bring you the unveiling of holes 4-6 of our urban golf track in NW Portland! With the recent spell of heavy rainfall here nearing its end, sunshine + clouds look to be setting the stage for plenty of golf both rurally and urban alike; I will be living vicariously through you all. 

We pick things back up at Hole #4, a sharp dog left (noticing a trend, here?) that should be played as a Par-3. You can take one of two routes here, either pin seek blindly straight over the barbed wire fence, or lay up to the right side of York St which will give you a nice approach shot into a visible pin, set right up against the blue wall. 

On the walk between #4 and #5, look to your 12:00 and admire the stark difference in architecture of the early 20’s church and mid 70’s manufacturing plant. That’s one thing I’m always appreciating about Portland; the mixture and mismatching of buildings (throwing in a quick prayer for birdies may not hurt, either!)

Hole #5 plays down the one and only alley-way on this track, 21st Pl. It’s a straight shot down the alley with the pin set on the left side of the street. The easiest hole on the course, be sure to pick up a stroke or two here before heading into the 2nd half of the holes! 

Hole #6 is the first dog leg right, and forces you to play the hole as such (I do not recommend trying to play over the 4 story manufacturing plant which resides on the corner, speaking from experience). Take your medicine here, and play this one wide and left to give yourself an optimal angle for your approach shot. It’s impossible to miss the pin here, look for the multi-colored graffiti’d wall!
