1. Low limit credit cards provides you opportunity to learn how credit cards work without risking too much debt. if you don’t understand how the credit system works, you can easily mess up your credit score and rack up debt fast
.

2. Most people pay off their minimum payments while their statement balance continues to accrue. As long as you aren’t paying off your statement balance, you are getting charged interest on your CC debt. So try as much as possible to pay off your statement balance
.

3. Store owned credit cards often have really high interest rates and can in some cases be predatory. It is best to simply avoid them and only buy what you can afford
.

If you can’t afford a $200 skinceuticals serum, buy the $15 Byoma one, your skin will still glow 😊
.

4. Use a high yield savings account not traditional savings account. I once left my savings in my traditional bank for almost a year and only got about less than $10 in credit for the money I saved
.

I started using a HYSA and I have earned over $200 in interest from my bank since I started saving with them
.

 5. This is not the time to get a student loan to study history and food science 😒. Some career paths pay more than others and if you are going to take on student loan debt, please pick ones that will empower you to pay off that debt + live
.

6.Max out your 401k if possible when you start working 9-5. This advice is only if you want to build a career in the 9-5 space. If you don’t plan to, it is better to use a brokerage account and high yield savings account with little in your 401k
