Ever felt embarrassed because of any of these things? 
.

I know I have on three different occasions 
.

➡️Moving back home to get back on my feet financially felt like I had failed
.

I always thought of myself as a tough kid but here I was unable to “make it “ in Lagos 
.

At first I was embarrassed about it but fast forward 10 months since I moved home, it’s been the best decision for me financially 
.

I was able to dig myself out of a really deep hole 
.

➡️Another instance where I was super embarrassed would be an asoebi incident 
.

Years ago a friend of mine getting married and I truly couldn’t afford to buy her asoebi, 
.

I was setting up my apartment and if you have ever lived by yourself, you know curtains ain’t playing not to talk of bed frames and home gadgets 😩
.

My pocket was running dry 
.

I didn’t have asoebi money even though I really wanted to be there for her 
.

I however didn’t say I had work or bring up something to hide the truth , I said it as it is and chose not to feel shame about it 
.

I knew that wouldn’t be my fate forever 
.

The friend blocked my number but hey 😊, who needs friends like that anyway 🤷🏽‍♀️
.

➡️I also felt embarrassed after a 4 year relationship ended 
.

They weren’t toxic or bad
.

things didn’t work out cause they had to pursue certain goals and I couldn’t fit on that journey 
.

I remember walking away cause I knew I deserved better than what I was being offered if I wanted to stay in the relationship 
.

And man, did I feel shame. Everyone who knew me knew this person and thought we would end up together .I heard remarks from casual friends and acquaintances 
.

When I say I felt shame from that breakup 😊
.

But years later, I am so glad I chose to move in faith over fear and believe , better will find me 
.

Anything good, healthy and legal that you do to create  a better possible future for yourself is not something to be ashamed of 
.

It may feel that way in the moment but I promise, your future self will thank you for making the hard choice
.
