It has been long overdue in my career to present a solo project in Paris and offer a direct encounter with my work—an experience that often requires physical proximity to be fully grasped in its most intimate yet expansive dimension. When elements hint at a possible collapse or a precarious balance, our senses become attuned, and our perception sharpens. I am grateful to Almine Rech Gallery for inviting me to realize this project in Paris, providing the space for this dialogue to unfold.

Half Empty, Half Full explores the duality between balance and contradiction—understanding contradiction not as conflict, but as an expansion of meaning—through painting and sculpture.

The paintings engage with art history as a field of inquiry, tracing the lineage of the circle in artistic tradition, where questions of originality, authenticity, and perception play a fundamental role. The sculptures, in turn, establish subtle dialogues with the paintings. They exist within a quiet tension, revealing a fragile equilibrium between industrial and organic materials, inviting reflection on the interplay of opposing forces, the symbolism of materials, and the role of art as a catalyst for imagination.

The title itself underscores a meditation on perception: whether something appears half empty or half full depends on the viewer’s perspective. Here, balance is not imposed but negotiated, reinforcing the idea that art does not offer definitive answers, but rather, open possibilities.
