Healing is not the desire to erase disability… it is the longing for their suffering to end.

Healing is complicated, especially for children. Little hearts and growing minds don’t yet have language for this big mysterious “Being” we call God the way adults try to. When a miracle doesn’t come, when a prayer feels unanswered, a child can quietly interpret that as rejection… as if God withheld love because their faith wasn’t big enough.
That belief is heavy. And it’s false.

Faith is not a transaction. Healing is not a reward for believing correctly.

I’ve learned something tender and holy along the way: not everyone wants to be healed… and that, too, deserves reverence. There is profound courage in choosing to love oneself fully, wholly, exactly as they are. Disability does not negate wholeness. It does not diminish worth. It does not disqualify joy.

What I pray for is not a different body.
What I pray for is less pain.
Less suffering.
More gentleness in this world toward bodies that move differently and lives that look unfamiliar.

Healing, for us, has become this:
To be seen without needing to be fixed.
To be loved without conditions.
To trust that God is present… not just in miracles… but in endurance, dignity, and deep, abiding compassion.
