Grants of up to $500 (plus access to free books 📚) support projects that expand book access and cultivate a shared culture of reading across Oakland.

Who should apply? Community groups and individual literacy champions serving Oakland youth (ages 0–18) outside of school time during summer 2026. 😎

We prioritize projects that make reading a social, joyful, and interactive experience where adults and youth read together, engage with stories and ideas, and connect in meaningful ways. 💬✨
