“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD God is an everlasting rock.” -Isaiah 26:3-4

Amid the tumultuous waves of life, will you ever have perfect peace? It is so hard to find peace in the world when so many things pull at your attention. What has priority in your mind? Where is it divided? We are to love the LORD our God with all of our mind. We are transformed by the renewing of our mind. We can have the mind of Christ. We are not to set our minds on earthly things, but on things above. The Christian life is not an unthinking life of just doing or experiencing, but of intentional thought, and where we set our mind is essential in our walk before the LORD.

Perfect peace is not found in controlling circumstances, but in a mind that is stayed on the Lord. To have our minds stayed on Him is to rest them fully upon Him, to lean on Him, to be upheld by Him. What we set our minds on will shape what we trust, and what we trust will determine whether we live in peace or in unrest.

Our minds are actively fixed on God because we trust in Him. We trust that He will guide, provide, protect, and ultimately save us. We do not trust in God because He merely has strength, but because He is the source of it. He is the foundation, the One who does not shift or fail.

So we trust in the LORD forever. Not just in moments of clarity, but in seasons of uncertainty. Not just when peace feels near, but when it feels distant. For the LORD Himself is an everlasting rock, and when our minds are stayed on Him, we are kept in perfect peace.
