Let’s take a look back at some notable moments this year ⏪ 

In August, Sister Joan Lescinski CSJ, PhD, announced she will retire as President of St. Ambrose University in August of 2021. The next president is expected to be announced in February. 

We began 2020 by preparing for the #IowaCaucus. Partnered with the @qctimes and the QC Chamber of Commerce, SAU hosted Leading the Nation, a series of panel interviews with presidential candidates, including Vice-President-elect Sen. Kamala Harris. 

In light of the coronavirus pandemic, Ambrosians jumped into a fall semester like no other. Over 3,500 students, faculty, and staff committed to the #BeeSafeBeeResponsible Promise. Masking and social distancing became a habit and a responsibility. The world is on an unexpected, unconventional, and uncomfortable ride. But for Ambrosians, the world has not stopped.

Podcast listenership saw a worldwide increase in 2020. Our top pick for the year is The Black Conscience. Hosted by @bsu_sau president Leonard Jones ‘21, the series explores Black history and culture to combat ignorance and hate with positivity and education. 

In January, @sau_cab brought country music star @grangersmith to campus to rock the WRC. 

The $8.6 million renovation of McMullen Hall was completed this year. The new home of the @stambrosecob features 16,000 feet of added learning space, where business students and faculty thrived. In November, the new common area was named #ThePropolis.
