Comment “CUT” and I’ll send you the sound effect I used in this video.

Match cuts are one of the cleanest ways to elevate your edits without overcomplicating anything.

This is how you actually do it step by step:
1. Set your timeline to framesGo to your timecode, right-click, and switch from timecode to frames. This gives you much more precision when cutting.
2. Choose your clips or photosYou can do this with video or stills. For this example, I used photos. Pick images that have similar composition or motion so the transition feels natural.
3. Line everything upStack your images in order and align them based on the subject. The closer the positioning matches from frame to frame, the smoother the match cut will feel.
4. Set duration to 2 framesHighlight all clips, right-click, go to Speed/Duration, and set each to 2 frames. This creates that sharp stop motion style effect that makes the transition hit.
5. Refine the timingPlay it back and adjust positioning if needed. Even small misalignments will break the illusion, so be precise here.
6. Close gapsGo to Sequence and select Close Gap so everything snaps together cleanly with no empty space.
7. Add sound designThis is what really sells it. Add a sharp cut or whoosh sound effect right on the transition to give it impact.

That’s it. Super simple, but when it is dialed in, it looks insanely clean.
