Pan-Africanism is the idea that people of African descent have common interests and should be unified. One key leader of the movement was the Jamaican-born leader, Marcus Mosiah Garvey, Jr. He founded the Negro World newspaper, the Black Star Line shipping company, and the Universal Negro Improvement Association, the largest Black organization. During the 1920s and 30s, the organization had an estimated 6 million followers worldwide. Garvey invented the Pan-African flag in 1920, intended to express Black liberation. #ARYEXBHM ❤️🖤💚✊🏾
