“Wait and see”, “keep pushing through, give it time” is the most common advice parents of school refusers receive.

It is also the most expensive.

Not in money. 
In time.

Every week you wait, the nervous system gets more certain that school isn’t safe. 
It doesn’t reset on its own. 
It doesn’t improve with holidays.
It learns.
