#UPDATE: uOttawa Lockdown Now Lifted‼️😳

🚨Students at the University of Ottawa were told to run, hide, and defend earlier today after a violent threat alert was issued across campus, sparking panic and concern among students and staff. 🙏🚨

Ottawa Police have confirmed that one person has been arrested following an investigation into a suspicious person incident at uOttawa. There are no injuries to report and there is no ongoing threat to public safety. The investigation remains ongoing, and the university has since lifted its lockdown as the situation is being cleared.

Authorities also thanked members of the university community and the public for their cooperation and patience, acknowledging the concern this situation caused for students, faculty, staff, and their loved ones.

Ottawa Police further stated that the arrest was made as part of a suspicious person investigation. A follower has also sent in what they believe the situation may have been about, claiming they saw a man in a hoodie with what appeared to be a replica gun. This description aligns with early reports of a suspicious individual, and paramedics have confirmed that no injuries or gunshot-related incidents were reported.

The individual stated, “Pretty sure this guy with a cap gun was the ‘violent threat’, I saw him at Ottawa station around 5.”
